Methodology

This section presents the methodology used for the analysis of this area, including the legislative sources reviewed, the sub-areas identified, and the specific criteria applied to assess the legal frameworks of Ibero-American countries. It also describes the elements structuring the analysis: the provisions, which synthesise the relevant legal information for each country, and the classification system applied (preserve, expand, reform or eliminate), which allows for assessing the level of alignment of national legislation with applicable international standards. Finally, it sets out the criteria guiding the formulation of recommendations, with the aim of facilitating the interpretation of the findings and promoting the strengthening of legal frameworks on gender equality.
