Key Areas

A synthesis of the main points of progress and pending legislative challenges in areas central to women’s economic empowerment is provided below. These areas were identified as priorities in the “Equality in Law for Women and Girls by 2030” strategy promoted by UN Women in collaboration with SEGIB to accelerate the elimination of discriminatory laws that impede the achievement of gender equality.
